About Us

Heartland Gardens Inc is a Diverse Business built by family with strong backgrounds in business management, food management, agriculture, health care and sustainability; the team developed an indoor year round farm near Stettler, Alberta.

Sixteen hundred square feet of shop was retrofitted in June 2022 to become our first hydroponic grow area to test various food crops.

Developing an affordable, sustainable, dependable year round supply of superfoods and answering to a lack of affordable nutrition for all was the focus and within six months; the first products were chosen, perfected and packaged. Product trials concluded after one year, licensing and our internal GAP audit process passed. We fine-tuned the process, appropriate insurances and are set for commercial production sales.

Each week we produce thousands of fresh packages of Microgreens. The selected containers nicely fill with 50g of product, they are locally sourced clear deli containers with good fitting lids that seal freshness you can see! The packs are easily stacked in refrigerators while being re-usable and microwave and dishwasher safe, allowing for less waste as a part of our combined sustainability missions. This also ensures product freshness and ease of transport and display while protecting the delicate product from crushing and causing premature spoilage. Each container is generously packed full of cool crisp nutritious micro green blends which remain in their freshest state for 7 days after harvest when refrigerated, while remaining a convenient, affordable size for all to incorporate into their budgets, grocery lists and restaurant supply orders.

Half of our weekly harvest is our Signature Blend of broccoli, clover and alfalfa and the other half in our Spicy Blends which adds the healthy heat of radish. Many choose to snack on the superfoods while others use them in sandwiches, salads, smoothies, garnishes, Pesto's and the like. Restaurants are a large user for these reasons but the products are not readily available in all supermarkets; but most commonly microgreens are available on subscription basis or within farmers markets. 

Through our sourcing and process, we are able to offer stabilized contract year-round supply and pricing, for one year at a time to reputable supermarket chains, to allow everyone, regardless of income bracket, an affordable constant supply of this Superfood!

Our website is one source for learning about the many Health Benefits of Microgreens but we encourage you to please also search on your own trusted sites and browsers. Microgreens are the young version of adult greens, cereals and other vegetables and legumes; radish, alfalfa, wheat on and clover are some of our favorites for their incredible anti-inflammatory and cancer fighting components. On average, microgreens have 40x the nutrients of their adult counterparts - so for picky eaters that don't eat enough leafy greens this could be interpreted as one can eat 40x less or for those that do enjoy greens, we can enjoy far more benefit.
